Your role focuses around creating social content on 3 main platforms to build ‘the brand’ and drive traffic to sales:
1. TikTok
Open to suggestions on approach really, as it has to be something you are comfortable doing, but at same time creating ‘regular’ content. Could just be as simple as just wearing a T-Shirt and talking random facts about animals? engage and educate with a subtle undertone of ‘buying this cool tee’. Loads of facts on animals can be sourced and Ai can help create content, just a case of being brave and filming yourself talking to camera!! eg:
You could be wearing a Panda design t-shirt, while talking about facts like: “Despite being part of the carnivorous bear family, giant pandas have a diet that is 99% bamboo. They can spend up to 14 hours a day eating and will consume around 12-38 kilograms (26-84 pounds) of bamboo daily”.
2. Instagram/ Facebook
Create regular content showing products, highlighting new designs and promotions. Can be scheduled and managed via Meta Business suite – (which I would give you login access to).
3. Influencer and colab opportunities
I would also be keen to look at opportunity with influencers who have a half decent social reach that be suitable to target to wear one of our Tees, we supply free (exchange of value) in return for a bit of promo. Alternatively advertising fees could be discussed (which I will be happy to step in and deal with once you have a contact). Targetting smaller but highly targeted influencers is better than trying to reach someone with millions of followers as it is likely they will want big £££ to promo.
The website will also feed product data to TikTok and Facebook ads would be running to promote the products. Potentially Etsy marketplace and even Amazon will all be automated feeds from the wbesite which i setup.
Using the content from the website
..you will need to create regular engaging content that in some way connects the audience to the T-Shirt designs. It is a difficult balance as the content should not always be sell sell sell. Often just something engaging and relevant is better with a much subtler connection to buying a T-Shirt. So basically, not every posts needs to be BUY this!
In addition you would need to respond to any comments or enquiries in a positive customer focused way.
Within the website orders tend to take care of themselves, there may however be delivery issues or customers that aren’t happy with the item (rare!), this also needs to be dealt with in a positive customer focused way, typically via email. Usually this would result in the item being returned for us to ‘see’ the issue before we send out a replacement etc.
Possible Target Markets to consider:
- Pets/Animals tees, which would cover everything from horses, farm animals, cats, dogs, hamsters etc, all very cute. Accoding to my research this is by far the most popular niche and biggest market. With Panda, Cat, Dog, Sloth and Fox being the top animals.
- Dinosaur themed tees – a mixture of cute cuddly design and more graphic aggressive design – more time consuming however to create artwork for this which concerns me, although could use AI and modify it.
- Gaming card tees – this would very much be it’s own brand as we won’t be able to use any other game graphics or logos due to copyright. This would be a harder one to grow as we are trying to build a new ‘fan base’ rather than tap into things people are already interested in (The idea you can bump into someone else wearing a tee and have some sort of top trump battle with then). Also within this idea I think we would need to create a new rare design quite regularly so it is only available for a short period.. so almost creating Rare, Legendary designs that people could wear. I see this one as quite an exciting potential, but may be more work, longer to grow, but could be easier to create social content for.
- Magical beasts
- Mushrooms
- Food
- Fishing
- Farming
- Sports – various niches.
- Internet culture/memes
In summary
The main focus is being passionate about the products and posting as much as possible to build a brand awareness. So it is important that you feel you want to commit to this and the subject matter is something you can get behind and be excited about. It does require a lot of work, especially as this will be done aside from your day job.
