When looking for a whiteboard video company in Somerset, or for the matter anywhere across the UK or globally, there are several key things to look out for.
In this article I am to cover the following 5 points, which may provide useful in your decision process when choosing a whiteboard video company.
- Does it matter where the whiteboard video company is based?
- How much should it costs to create a whiteboard video
- How long does it take to create a whiteboard video
- Will I need a VoiceOver for my whiteboard video ?
- Will I own the whiteboard video ?
There are of course more than 5 points you could cover within this article, but I have just pulled out these top 5 to help give some guidance, if you require any further help – then of course get in touch and I would be happy to help.
1. Does it matter where the whiteboard video company is based?
This really depends on whether you like working with someone local. Even though in reality you never need to meet the video company face-to-face. Some feel happier knowing if they had to they could just ‘nip in’ and see them.
So on this basis it doesn’t really have to be a local whiteboard video company you need to choose. I have clients around the world as well as local here in Somerset, and the production process remains the same with them all.
I would recommend looking at the work the whiteboard video company does, check out their portfolio and see if you like there style and production quality.
And remember you get what you pay for!
2. How much should it costs to create a whiteboard video
As I am a Whiteboard video company based in Somerset, I can only give my perspective on pricing from someone who is based in the UK. The price of a whiteboard video really depends on how complex the art style is, how many elements of artwork there are and how long the video is.
You can search around on freelance websites like Fiverr, and find whiteboard video companies or people willing to do whiteboard videos for as little as $10. This is a crazy low price to even think a video can be created for that price. For starters the licence use of software costs more than this. Also, properly licensed images or music typically come with a higher price.
And if the Artwork is being created by the whiteboard video company specific to your needs, this takes time – days even. Which a $10 video does not reflect.
Unfortunately there is a huge market of whiteboard video companies trading out of India, that use hacked, unlicensed software, images stolen from Google search and other means in order to cut costs on a whiteboard video.
This means if you were to use these whiteboard video companies, or freelancers, your video is effectively breaching copyright itself and you are at risk of using it. As none of the images or music or even the software top create the video are properly licensed, anything created with it are in breach of copyright, so be very careful.
Here at Drawmill, a professional whiteboard video company, all artwork is crafted by me, Jason Venus specific for your video. I use only licensed software like scribbleo.com and only used licensed music from sources such as Audioblocks.com
The costs to produce a whiteboard video, start from around £500 for something simple, around 30 seconds long and with no voice over. A more realistic price for a whiteboard video is around the £1000 to £1500 for a 1 Minute whiteboard video with VoiceOver and backing music.
Prices can vary , as mentioned before – depending on art style and complexity – but this is a good starting guide to set your expectations at a realistic level.
3. How long does it take to create a whiteboard video
It takes around 2 to 4 weeks to produce a whiteboard video once a script has been approved. If the whiteboard video is more complex then the process can take a bit longer but this would be made clear at the start of the project.
4. Will I need a VoiceOver for my whiteboard video ?
A voice over for your whiteboard video is not essential, although I would highly recommend having a voice. When a viewer is watching your whiteboard video, if they are also hearing words it acts as a double re-enformcement and the information they are viewing is digested much easer.
With social media such as Facebook, quite often the ‘feed’ is muted, so when they first see a video scroll into their feed it is silent, so it is sometimes worth considering having subtitles if you target audience is going to be via Facebook.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to. VoiceOver. Other than making sure the voice over artist used is of a professional standard. Bad quality audio is worse than no audio at all! My whiteboard video company uses only professional voice over artists from the UK and USA.
5. Will I own the whiteboard video ?
You will own the exclusive rights to the final completed whiteboard video, supplied as a 1920×1080 MP4 video. The video can be used as you wish in your marketing, social, websites and emails.
What you do not own is the imagery used within, the intellectual property over these images remain with the artist, in this case myself, Jason Venus treading as Drawmill whiteboard video company in Somerset. I retain the right to re-use the images as I wish plus I am able to use the video in my portfolio and marketing to demonstrate my work.
Because you have exclusive rights, other than myself as the creator – this means no one else can use your video ‘as is’. And I can not sell this video to use for anyone else. So you cane assured you have a unique engaging whiteboard video to use for as long as you wish.
